Top 5 Drinking Games for Parties

Lets admit it, when it comes to parties there's nothing to get the party going than a few drinks to go around. Now I'm not saying that one has to get completely smashed/hammered/plastered or whatever the lingo this generation is referring to it as, but a few drinks can help loosen the tension. In an effort to make drinking a tad bit more fun and creative, I will provide some creative games that have proved to be quite popular for college parties.

1) Beer Pong
2) Quarters
3) Flip Cup
4) Kings Cup
5) Boatrace

Now as a reminder its great to have fun but most importantly it is important to stay safe, please drink responsibly. Always have a designated driver and or someone to look over you when drinking.

Top 5 Most Important Birthday Parties

When it comes to birthday parties, we can sometimes feel like the whole celebration can get worn out. However, there are a select few birthday party ages tend to always rock the house:

5) Age 13
Every child looks forward to the day when they can graduate to the level of teenager! The thirteenth birthday tends to be a coming of age ceremony of sorts, which is emphasized greatly by the Jewish tradition of the "Bar Mitzvah!"

4) Age 40
Although a 40th birthday can be a tough thing to swallow for some people, the "over the hill" theme helps most people laugh it off and have a great time. Time to look back on Round 1 of life, and get ready for Round 2!

3) Age 1
It is true that the odds of the child actually remembering this party are quite slim, but who says its for them anyway... A childs 1st birthday is one of a parents most proud moments, when they can celebrate that they got through a whole year of doing the hardest job in the world!

2) Age 16
A young womans "Sweet 16" will live in her memory as one of the greatest days of her life. Everyone, everything, everywhere, all for her! Its the fairy tale night every girl dreams of. Oh yeah guys have 'em too...

1) Age 21
You guessed it, the 21st birthday makes the top of the list! There is no other birthday like it, from the freedom to the excessive celebration (often paired with alcohol use and Las Vegas), men and women alike party like rockstars on a night they will never forget... or never remember?

How to Be a Good Cocktail Party Host

Many factors play into planning a successful cocktail party from the perfect decorations and tableware to assortment of drinks and appetizers. However, planning a great cocktail party is only half the battle! Making people enjoy themselves requires knowing how to be a good host. Here are some tips to improve your skills as a host and make your cocktail party memorable.

Meet and Greet
We were always taught to be polite and it doesn’t stop here! It is really important to greet your guests the moment they arrive and make them feel welcome. Before showing them where the party is offer to take their coats and handbags or any belonging they might have. Once you’ve done so, introduce people. This will keep the party alive and it wouldn’t hurt to bring up a topic that might inspire a conversation.

Dress to Impress
One thing to never forget is “It’s better to be overdressed than underdressed!”
What better way to compliment your nicely decorated cocktail party than by dressing nicely.

Can I get you a drink?
One of the most important tips is making sure your guests never have an empty drink. And this doesn’t always mean an alcoholic beverage. Make sure to walk around with a bottle to refill or water. Remember to monitor your guest’s alcohol intake.

Set the Tone
Smile at the party! Show your guests you’re having as just a good a time as they are. Nobody likes a “Debby Downer” so stay relaxed and talkative.

St. Patrick's Day Party Ideas

It’s almost that time of year again, to think green! Throw an Irish-themed party and wear some green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!  Here are some great ideas on how to throw the perfect St. Patrick’s Day Party:

Attire:  Make sure you wear green or you might get pinched!  You can even sport a “Pinch me I’m Irish” button or step it up by wearing a leprechaun hat.

Decorations: Include as many green decorations as possible by incorporating green into tablecloths, tableware, silverware, balloons, and streamers.  You can even replace light fixtures with green light bulbs or hang shamrock-shaped strands of lights.

Activities: Create a treasure hunt for guests to find a hidden pot of gold (chocolate gold coins). You can also create a playlist of Irish songs and have guests sing karaoke.  For 21 and older, go to an Irish Pub and celebrate in the most popular way, by drinking a beer!

Food:  For finger foods, place bowls of green M&Ms, green jelly beans, and Lucky Charms cereal.  You should also serve popular Irish foods such as corned beef and cabbage and mashed potatoes.

Drink: Serve mint milkshakes, green Gatorade, or green Kool-Aid.  For 21 and older, serve Irish coffee by adding whisky to coffee or serve green beer by adding green food coloring.
